Heat Free Printing v. Laser Printing
There is a new technology available that is sized right for office printing that users can now consider along with traditional laser printing when replacing their copiers and printers. EPSON has introduced heat free printing that is SMART, SIMPLE, and CLEAN.
To make the comparison you need basic knowledge about how each one of the technologies work.
Laser Printing Process
Scan or send the image
Photo conductor (replacement item) receives the image via a laser
Toner and developer (replacement item) are applied to the photo conductor
The paper passes by a corona wire (replacement item) that charges the paper so it is negative or positive
The paper passes the photoconductor and passes the toner to the paper using opposite charges
The paper then passes through the fusing section (replacement item) where the paper is heated to extremely high temperatures and pressure is applied to press and melt the toner onto the page.
New Heat Free Printing Process (Piezo InkJet)
Scan or send image
Paper passes under the inkjet head and an image is applied
The inkjet process is much simpler using less energy and fewer parts. This results in a less expensive operating cost, higher reliability, fewer service interventions, lower energy consumption, and reusable prints.
Inkjet and piezo inkjet aren’t new, they have been used in industrial settings for a long time but what is new is that they are now affordable alternatives for businesses, schools, medical facilities, and government.
Laser printer is still a better option for customers who need to print on glossy or matte paper because piezo inkjet is not a choice for that type of work. However, if you are trying to rid your self of laser, you can use a small inkjet (along with your piezo inkjet printer) which can print on glossy and matte paper.
We would be happy to provide you with more information and urge you to consider this new technology to save energy, parts, and money.
